Greg is a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating from Ivy Tech, Greg was hired by Marion Police Department and attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (2006).
While employed with Marion PD, Greg’s primary focus was O.W.I and Drug/Criminal Interdiction where Greg attended multiple advanced trainings in this field.
In 2012, Greg attended Drug Recognition Expert (D.R.E.) Training through CJI/NHTSA. Greg also received specialized training through O.P.O.T.A as a Field Training Officer.
In 2013, Greg lateraled to Madison County Sheriff’s Department where he is currently employed as a Midnight Shift Supervisor (Sergeant). Greg’s current assignment outside of Midnight Shift Supervisor is Training Coordinator along with responsibilities of our Field Training Program for all new Deputies.
Greg is an I.L.E.A Instructor and currently instruct S.T.O.P.S (Strategies and Tactics of Patrol Stops), M.A.C.T.A.C (Multiple Assault Counter Terrorism Attack Capabilities), S.F.S.T. (Standardized Field Sobriety Instructor) and Close Quarter Battle (Structures and Vehicles). Greg attended F.L.E.T.C. where he gained his Active Threat Instructor (Active Assailant).
For the last approximately 6 years, this role has allowed Greg the opportunity provide critical training for my community. Greg has had the opportunity to instruct in Businesses, Churches, Schools, Libraries and any other entity that has requested Active Threat Training. Greg is also a current team member of the S.W.A.T Team where and serves as Assistant Team Leader.
